Day 588 28th February 2018
27 miles (Itagua to Massaguaca) Average speed 10.4mph Top speed 38mph
A good day back in the sunshine. I had considered staying another night but chose to push on.
I was up at 8 and with nothing to eat I just had tea with my new powdered milk, which was not great, but at least it got me going. I packed up and said goodbye to Cima the kitten and the hostel owner from Qatar, plus the two brothers I’d shared a room with. I headed out of town and onto the Praia Grande where I bought pate and bread for brekkie with tomatoes I already had and enjoyed them on the beach.
Then it was time for some big climbs. The first was tough in the heat but when I made it to the top there were lots of people filling up with fresh water from a spring so I joined in and filled my bottles and had a good wash. It was as ever worth the climb to enjoy a great run down with no traffic passing me. I’d been stuck in a long queue of cars behind some lorries but they’d all gone by now. There were some great views out over the sea.
Camping el shaddai massaguaca free!!!
All I need to do is give them a mention on spc and Facebook.
