Day 151 17th December
24miles ( San Martin) Average speed 11.3 mph Top speed 25 mph
Up fairly early at 8 after sleeping on the sofa as Butch had my bed. Mandy went spinning and I set off for San Martin where I followed four road cyclists and was determined to keep up. When they stopped for coffee I turned back and went into San Martin, where I had Fanta limon and magdalenas outside the Aussie bar, while sheltering from the rain. Found a Tod’s handbag on the side of the road, which was very good as a mudguard to stop the rain splashing up. I checked the price later and some of those bags retail at £1200. That might be going on ebay after a clean!
I went to the market and then to a mad rastro shop run by a German lady to help horses. Came back and had a coffee while the parrot watched my bike and I hid from a shower.
I then went to a garden centre and bought a snail doorstop for Mandy. They also had a grow kit for weed!
I returned to Mandy’s and had lunch of ham and melon. Then I fitted cleats to my new shoes and needed to test them out so I went to a rugby match at Puente Nuevo .
Back to the Dubliner for a couple of beers and to watch Soccer Saturday. This time the O’s lost to Wycombe.
Mandy cooked salmon and we watched Peter Kaye.
