Day 152 18th December
33miles (Torreguadiaro to Marbella ) Average speed 11.6 mph Top speed 24 mph
Mandy took me to see the people who wanted a dog sitter in San Roque. There I met the dogs and checked out their lovely house. The interview went well and I have a job for 9 days.
On the way back I spotted Billy and Rose on the roadside trying to fix their bike. Mandy drove back and offered them tools to fix it back at her house. We couldn’t fix the bike but Mandy offered them to stay. Then I left for Marbella, which was a good ride except that some of the beach path had been washed away and I had to carry the bike over beach and rubble.

Windswept beach
A kind cyclist helped me up. I met a guy cycling in the opposite direction who had been on the road for four years.(Ermintrude : !!!!) We had a short chat and he said he’d been pushing his bike through sand to avoid the motorway. I told him that soon he would have some beach roads.
I got to In House Hostel by about 3 pm – ish; just in time to find a pub and watch the footy.

Beer and football – what else is there?
Watched the second half in Friends English bar and asked about good curry. Went for a lovely chicken madras and then on to Frank’s Bar which had live music, lots of Spanish enjoying the great atmosphere.

Frank’s bar – busy and full of atmosphere
Home fairly early and a good night’s sleep.
