Day 195 30th January
19miles (around Marakesh) Average speed 8.7mph Top speed 18mph
Up at 8 for brekkie which wasn’t ready till 9.20 due to Francesca from Scotland bossing everyone around. Bread and jam with awful coffee. Then I went for a 20 dirham massage – which lasted all of 10 minutes, but at least it helped my neck. I went up on to the roof of the hostel for some sun and then cycled with Craig and Jasper to the airport for lunch of burger and chips; much more pleasant and considerably cheaper only ten minutes out of town.

Our parting of the ways
We said goodbye and I went in search of the Badii Palace, but it was difficult to find as the road was closed and when I got there it was closed.

El Badii palace – which was closed, so I didn’t see much!
I rode around town and then back to the hostel to leave my bike and go for a walk to find Deep Heat. The chemist wanted 80 dirham so I went in search of more and bought some from a street seller for 20 dirham. I had a couple of beers watching the sunset and bought a sandwich on the way back to the hostel.
