Day 41 29/8/16
34miles (Labenne to Biarritz) Average speed 9.2 mph Top Speed 28mph
Left a bit late with the Germans (don’t mention the war) as we were out until 1am celebrating Bettinas birthday and went with them to the post office which was too busy, so into Ondres, waited for them and paid for solar charger which now fits on my bar bag. And hopefully will work! Had lunch with them at a cafe and said our goodbyes. Onto Biarritz via a Lidl with a yoghurt drink and chocolate croissant. Biarritz is absolutely stunning and full of rich people and style and fashion and beautiful girls!

Sorted post office eventually when I found correct window and paid 80c for collection. Then went down to beach for lunch and realised Brian was missing so retraced my steps but he was nowhere to be seen. I think he’s gone back to l’Escargot disco or hopefully been found by a very happy French child who will look after him. Found campsite which charges €30 per night but can share a pitch with other solo tourers for €12.40. No brainer and I got to meet Stephan from Frankfurt. He’s been hiking around Spain so picked up a few tips from him. Pyrenees now in view and quite a prospect, so day off tomorrow to do all my chores and try to lose weight! Dinner of Spanish omelette to celebrate the upcoming adventure. Looking forward to the next challenge. First though I’ll need to rest and recharge all batteries including mine!
Great campsite. Biarritz Bleu €12.40. Free wifi. Loo roll and jacuzzi.
