Gnv ferry. £85
Check in at 1 pm for a 17:00 departure. A long wait to get on board.
I got up at 9 and had brekkie of toast, jam and cornflakes with tea.
I said goodbye to Eric and chatted with an Aussie before leaving at 11.30. I went to the Coop at the terminal to buy bread, cheese, chorizo (which turned out to be horse meat) and beer and wine for the journey.
I had leftover bangers and mash with peas and thankfully there was a microwave on board. I had to go upstairs to the ticket office to get tickets so locked the bike near a cleaning cupboard. Then I had to take all the bags off the bike to take them through the metal detector. My hip set it off too so had to explain that. I put all the bags back on the bike and then I had to wait for the lift in which the bike only just fitted. When down I joined the cars and motorbikes and met a nice Italian who had a lovely off road bike motorbike. I waited for about three hours but then was allowed on first and checked into my shared cabin.
We eventually set off at 6.20 and I could enjoy my lunch with some beer and I was in bed early reading my new book on sports science that Eric gave me and slept well.
