12th November
Day off the bike again but I did go out on Younes new bike for a test run.
I got up at 7.30 to my phone alarm barking like a dog, which for a while I thought was a dog as there are so many barking through the night. (The boys play with my phone at every opportunity so I never know what they will change next)
I went to Kamal’s but he was still asleep so I went for a walk and then back to the room to pack. I was soon joined by Younes and Aman who continued to badger me into staying longer. We had brekkie of olives and harsha bread with tea.
Then I went to the souk with Kamal and Younes and bought a good bike for Younes for 450dirham. We did all the shopping in the souk, buying vegetables and live chickens, which weren’t alive for long as I watched their throats cut and then put in boiling water before plucking and bagging. That’s what I call fresh.

Returning in the Cameo
I bought some more gifts and came back to the house in the back of Aziz’s Cameo and had beef kebabs. I took Younes’s bike to the river with Aman on the crossbar before going for a walk with Kamal where we met Hamid and carried on to watch the sunset. I saw a potential house to buy and Kamal offered to find me a wife to go with it! We went to Hamid’s house for tea and fish where Kamal put Hamid’s daughter forward as a possible wife.

Back at the house I insisted we clear the patisserie of rubbish and have a big fire. It was brilliant sitting around the fire with the whole family and then we had a tagine and fruit. Kamal and I sat by the fire discussing my future life in Morocco after they had convinced me to stay another day. In bed by 11 and feeling good after a great day.
