Day 495 27th November
.75 mile (Cadiz to cruise ship ) Average speed 4.5 mph Top speed 12mph
I was a wake at 6 and got up for a shower and a walk around town and a coffee in a cafe on the street watching everyone going to work. I’m beginning to forget what that means.
At the hostel I had brekkie of muesli and pancakes and said goodbye to Swin the Dutchman and checked out with Ramos, who used to work on the cruise ship playing flamenco guitar. I cycled to the port and checked in with another cyclist who had all brand new kit. I looked a bit dishevelled next to him, but I guess after 16 months my gear is looking a bit worn! Me too!

Cruise ship
On board I had a double bed and shower with plenty of room for the bike when it was delivered later by the porters.

My cabin
Then I went up to the 14th floor to see the 360 bar and had a couple of mojitos before lunch of bean and chorizo soup followed by salmon, mash and veg with creme caramel and chocolate cake. I went back to the 11th floor for a coffee but they only had a coffee liqueur so I made do! Then it was into the disco for the safety announcement and the info on muster stations.

Pool deck
Back at the room the luggage had arrived, except for the kitchen bag which had a knife in it, so I will have to wait and see if they have confiscated that in a while, but first I had to have a few Balentine and cokes while sunbathing. I think I could get used to life on a cruise ship.
After a few more Balentines I needed a siesta to make sure that I would make dinner at 7.30. The alarm didn’t wake me and I only just managed to make dinner at 8.20, but met a Canadian couple from Vancouver and John from Weston super Mare. We chatted about John’s cycling trips and Vancouver and enjoyed soup, steak with potatoes.
Double bed in cabin.
