Day 598 10th March 2018
11 miles (Guaruja to Santos) Average speed 9.6 mph Top speed 23 mph
I got up at 9 and had brekkie of sausage sarnies and coffee. I went for a swim in the pool and took my time to pack up. I listened to the Os draw with Ebbsfleet and then set off at 2 pm. It was easy to find the road to the port where I got the ferry for bikes and a few pedestrians.

On the cycle ferry
I met a guy on the way and we chatted on the ferry. He is a nurse and had visited London. Once across the ferry I took it easy and had a rest on the beach where there was a rowing competition going on, before finding the Hostel which is very good. I have a dorm to myself and a good safe place for the bike.
I went for a wander round the city and found the Santos Stadium where I got myself a ticket for tomorrow’s match against Sao Bento and acquired a new football shirt.

I celebrated with a beer in a bar with samba from the Velha Guarda band while watching the fun and games going on at the Olympic stadium in London.
