Day 638 19th April 2018
56 miles (Apucarana to Floresta) Average speed 11.2 mph Top speed 36 mph
I was up at 7.30 and had coffee, but no brekkie as the bread roll was not very appealing. I left at 9 and took the road out of town, downhill all the way. I stopped to buy brekkie of cheese crackers and cream cheese and a tin of orange in a nice town called Jandaia do Sol. Then it was downhill all the way and I had brekkie on a tree stump outside a farm. The farmer came past in a ghost tractor and then returned for a chat and wished me good luck. The fabulous downhill continued all the way to Bom Sucesso where I had Coxinhas and more orange for lunch.

Lots of up and downs
Then I had to start climbing some hills and there were lots of ups and downs throughout the afternoon. After going down to a couple of rivers and back up the other side I eventually arrived at Itambé, only to find that there were no hotels, so I had to continue on another 9 miles to Florista where I found this pousada on the main road. The restaurant didn’t open til 7.30 so I took two litres of sprite back to the room for a well earned siesta. After a help yourself buffet for 18 reais including dessert I had another early night.
Pousada duzentao 38 reais.
