Day 892 29th December 2018
20 miles (Georgetown to Titi Teris)
Another great day of climbing.
I was up late at 10 after another late night. I had 4 slices of toast and coffee, then packed up and checked out and said my goodbyes.
I took a different route out of town and found the main road to the temple.

Kek Lok Si temple
Then after a pork dumpling roll and iced coffee I started another big climb of 1 mile up over 4 miles. It was not as busy as yesterday’s four wheel drive escapades and much more pleasant. The gradient was not so bad overall, but had its moments and my legs were tired after Penang hill climb, but I made it to the dam and reservoir where police told me I could cycle around the lake, so I took the more direct route. The path was steeper and a bit wet in places.

I finally made it to the top and rested with some coffee flavoured iced water and then took on the descent, which was a bit tricky as the road surface was not so good in places, but there were only a few mopeds for company. Then I had a sugar cane juice and a chat to the lady selling and her daughter and found the hostel easily. I met Adrian and a couple from Vancouver and Azerbaijan who showed me around. It’s a great place next to a river with lots of wildlife and is very cycle friendly with a repair shop and much bike art.
