Day 925 31st January 2019
40 miles ( Sedili Besar to Taman desaru) Average speed 12.2 mph Top speed 31 mph
I was up at 8.45, showered and went to breakfast with Bob and family. I had roti telur and Nescafé. Then back at the house I watched Lin working on the new water system to feed the lake and then packed and said fond farewells.

Saying farewell to Bob
I immediately took a wrong turn which led to a dead end, though not very far out of my way. Then it was onto the very good quiet road all the way to the next town of Ceric Sedili, where I carried on through and then there was nothing for about 20 miles when I took my first stop in the shade of a tree.
The coast road continued and came inland, occasionally up and down a few inclines, but it was hot and I was glad of the downhills to cool me down. I stopped for lunch at Tunyang Balai and used the museum toilet, but didn’t go in as it looked a bit pointless and I needed food. I went to a restaurant I’d passed and had chicken and rice while the girls all admired my Lycra!!
Then I took the main road to Taman Desira and passed some expensive hotels, but when I checked the map I would have had to climb back up from the next resort, so I backtracked and found this hostel; which, although a bit pricey, saves me a longer day tomorrow. I went for a walk, had a German beer in a Chinese restaurant and went shopping at the mall, where I bought an aux cable for my speaker and a new rear light for the bike. Then I had a beer in my room and made calls home before mutton biriyani for dinner and a whisky in a bistro to say farewell to Malaysia for a week.

Farewell to Malaysia for now – I’ll be back!
In bed by 11 and all in order.
Hostel blue 80 ringgit for two bunks bed room, very basic but good shower, WiFi and aircon.
