Day 944 19th February 2019
44 miles (Batu Pahat to Muar) Average speed 13.1 mph Top speed 23 mph
Another good day on the bike.
I got up at 8 and went for brekkie of poora, a different type of Indian bread fried with Dahl and Nescafé coffee. I packed and said goodbye to the new kittens and the restaurant next door who gave me ice for my water bottles. I left a note to thank Jerry and hit the road at 10.30.

Goodbye kittens
It was good to know the way and I was flying, I clicked up 15.4 miles in the first hour and stopped to take picstures of old cars and have iced tea and get more ice.

Then I realised that there was a much more interesting road to my left which took me to a quieter route to Sangai Balang. The road went round to the left, but then ended at the mouth of the river. I tried to get back through a palm plantation but couldn’t, although I did get to see deep inside the forest and managed not to get lost.

Deep in the forest
Back at the junction I took the left unmade road which was wet in places and a bit gravelly and continued for quite a while enjoying the nature around me and the river running along side.
