Day 957 4th March 2019
30 miles (Kuah to Chenang and back ) Average speed 11.7 mph Top speed 34 mph
A slow day of rest until 5pm.
I got up at 9 for toast and coffee. I chatted to a Dutch lady about Belum and other stuff, then Julian from Brisbane and chilled in a hammock where I had a long chat with Lucas and Michael too.
I cleaned my bike and waxed the saddle, then chatted some more and cleaned my panniers. I left at 5.30 to watch the sunset and cycled like a racer at 15 mph over hills to get to Chenang. I made it in 45 minutes and saw and rode along the beach. I watched a beautiful French fire eater practice her moves while I stretched my muscles after a fast ride.

Then I went in search of Debbie’s Irish bar but it had been demolished to build new apartments. So I had a burger and went to Yellow Cafe to watch sunset. The beer was 4 times the price in a supermarket, but it was a good spot to watch the sunset.
