Day 975 22nd March 2019
26 miles (Phuket old town to airport. ) Average speed 11.1 mph Top speed 32 mph
What an incredible day.
I got up at 9 and had brekkie of coffee and toast with banana.
I went to collect the hammock and then went in search of jeweller to fix my necklace, but all the goldsmiths wanted to change the clasp.Eventually I found a small place that repaired my clasp with a new spring for 200 baht.
Then I left and took the main road, which was busy, but I went past most of the traffic at roadworks and stopped after an hour at a good bike shop where I pumped up my tyres and cooled down. I had a sprite and took ice from a shop. The woman wanted to charge me 3 baht for four pieces of ice and I just laughed. Then I turned left and followed the short cut to the airport signs which was a great road going through countryside, farms and small villages.
I just had a very emotional reunion with the PCC guys.
There was a channel five production team with a camera on each side of arrivals to document it too. Phuket airport documentary will air in August and I think my interview may well feature as they seemed impressed.
Hostel airport 330 baht.
Then I had following conversation with Vernon on Facebook
Vernon
Here’s hoping some editor doesn’t cut you out!
Brian
I hope not. The production team are out here for ten weeks with what must be a good budget. Two crews with cameras and sound plus a producer and a fixer. It’s good to see a decent crew these days
·
Vernon
Indeed it is. But never believe a producer who tells you that “you were great, just what we needed.” You can’t trust those buggers! ·
Brian
I know but it was the camera woman who felt my passion but they count for nothing after the shoot!!
Producers are ten a penny unless you find a good one!! Yourself would be in that category!!
