Day 6 25/7/16
52 miles (Cayeux-sur-Mer to Pourville-sur-Mer) Average 9.2 mph Top speed 32.5.mph
via Le Treport, Dieppe and Criel-sur-Mer
Fantastic day. Best day yet. It probably doesn’t mean much to some but when everything goes your way then I guess it’s just your lucky day! Your ducks are in line!
Packing up your tent and getting on the road can take time, add rain and wind while eating brekkie, and it can become a task. Then the skies cleared and things picked up.
Boulangerie for bread, Carrefour for cheese and milk and pate, but they didn’t open until 8.
Then a sea ride; great climbs and descents. A great view back to Cayeux and of cliffs towards Le Treport
I had the best lunch of Brie, apple and French bread at Criele-sur-Mer by a river under a willow tree.

Criel-sur-Mer
A fantastic day with lots of climbs some busy roads; fast on d940, but boring so had speaker on with music, but I’ve had a smile on my face all day! The downhills were amazing too but too fast to appreciate scenery.
Music on speaker helps on long straight roads. Coming into Dieppe Rule Britannia played at full blast. I’m not sure of the significance of that but it tickled me!
Sat nav did well but d75 closed ! Up more hills to get around it.
Now in Pourville-sur-Mer south of Dieppe. Found campsite just as I was about to start climb to Varanges.Everything was in my favour today. Bottle of rose wtih tomato and pate pasta. Thank goodness for chilli flakes! Delicious.
A great campsite with pool means I’ve had my first swim and as you can probably tell from my rambling a boutelle de rose !
(Ermintrude : I rather think he is enjoying this!)
