Day 59 16/9/16
Day off the bike totally.
In the last few days I’ve had my front wheel fixed by Pepe at www.slowtraffic.es, ridden in the rain, slept on a roundabout in Parla, ridden up some hills, had a haircut, clocked up 2500 miles, swam in a pool with spectacular views of Toledo and met some very nice people. Especially Paul and Caroline from Antiquera who provided me with coffee this morning! To which I added omelette with cheese and chorizo.

Entrance to El Greco camp site
Did my washing and other chores, then showered and headed into town on foot, just one km. If I’d seen that coach driver I would have taught him some navigation skills! Did all the sightseeing stuff but soon got fed up with churches.

Cigarral del Santangelo Custodio

Puente de San Martin – St. Martin’s Bridge

Cathedral of St Mary of Toledo

Banos de Tenerias
Found a bar which ripped me off for a pint. Still, at least, they had wifi. Got a empanadas with meat. Found the river which I found much more appealing than the churches.

River – more to my taste

River view
Sorry god but I prefer nature. Went for a quick beer and then cooked up pasta. Met a very nice Dutch couple and went back to miserable barman who doesn’t seem so keen to close tonight with such a busy bar. I’ll show him. A very large pacharan followed!
