Day 60 17/9/16
80 miles (Toledo to Horcajo de Los Montes) average speed 12.1 Top speed 38mph
What a fantastic day. Climbed 4 miles out of Toledo and enjoyed ride down the other side. I stopped to watch a girl practising dressage in a paddock beside the road.

Decided to head for Toledo mountain range and it was downhill until Las Ventas con Peria.

Had lunch of bread and pate on roundabout with ants cleaning up all my crumbs.

Then uphill to my favourite ride so far. Sorry Gu 108 but this was immense. Photos could not do it justice.

Cows beside the road
Truly wonderful all the way down to lake Bullaque.

I headed for a campsite at Alcobar but it was closed and I didn’t fancy the municipal rec area as it was full of boy racers. Asked at a hostel for a room but it was closed then at Casa Rural but he said it was full, I’m not sure I believed him but he said next town had camping, so off I went, watching the sunset and riding into the night. Wild camp didn’t seem too appealing as I could hear the wolves, but I found a campsite just when I needed it. And Diana the barmaid appreciated my need for beer and tapas. Cooked dinner of chicken and tomatoes and chorizo and went back to sample more of Diana’s hospitality. Another truly wonderful day.
