Raul’s bungalow
After an excellent night’s sleep I got up at 9am, cooked bacon and eggs with toast and cream cheese. then I walked into town via the forest path to buy the tea bags I forgot yesterday. Climbing back up was hard work (I don’t really like walking!) and I had a rest before heading into the mountains on the bike in search of firewood. It was not as bad a roadway as I remembered and I was soon at Raul’s restaurant www.cortijodelalcazar.com
Took a few pictures and found some dry wood and headed to the start of the walks. The road was rutted but not too bad. It was another 2km and then I found a picnic spot with lots of litter and the botanic walk, which I cycled along until I could go no further. Then back to the road and followed it 750 meters to the Mirador.

Mirador Miguel Alvarez
It was stunning scenery and the birds were singing. I had a rest on a stone table top where I found dry wood below. Took lots of pictures and then had a slow trip back down, braking all the way.

I found more dry wood in the forest, and then some more by the roadside, and just as I finished bagging it up the park warden came past. Perfect timing. It was beautiful with the lake below and it turned to gold as the sun began to set.

Sun beginning to set
Back at the bungalow I had a beer and watched the sunset. I tried to light the fire with paper but it was tough going with damp wood. Lots of smoke but I eventually got a good fire going. Cooked dinner of chicken and pasta washed down with half a bottle of wine left over from last night.

This is the life!
Another wonderful day with spectacular scenery and superb wildlife.
