Brian the snail helping to pack up the tent
A brilliant start to the day, two in a row at Ibis Hotel breakfast buffet. All you can eat and as much coffee as you can drink. Charged batteries a bit, then back to pack up tent in the sun.
Ready to go at 12. Popped into Carrefour to buy lunch and McDonald’s for emails. It’s so much easier when you know where everything is!
Great ride along the coast with French Classic FM on full blast until the radio fell off the bar bag and I thought I’d never hear radio 5 again.
Then went inland and back out again to Fouras Les Bains. Went to see if I could get boat to two islands but it’s only a round trip according to the lovely girl at the tourist office. She gave me great advice on where to go and what to see. Good guy at municipal campsite only charged me €7.76 after first one asked €13 but with pool. Sat on the beach for an hour watching windsurfers and kite boarders.
Great ride I clocked up 1500 miles at Yves and celebrated in style at a flea market with a beer. Didn’t bother with the frites as I’d had such a big brekkie.

Moules and frites with a pichet de rosé for €13. It was so good I gave him €15! Loved the menu which arrived in a Beatles book and the atmosphere was good, but the place itself was so quirky, right up my street. It’s where the locals eat, the fries were like old fashioned English chips, they probably call them triple fried back in UK. This is my favourite place so far.
I think I will stay tomorrow and take a trip to Fort Boyard.
Spent time having a beer under the stars on the beach.
