Day 273                                                       18th April<\/p>\n

34 miles (Sampigny to Jaulny)  Average speed 9.5 mph Top speed 28 mph<\/p>\n

I left my wild camp by the river and set off towards Marbotte where I found a church which had memorials to the many dead of  WW1, who had perished in the fighting in the Agremont Forest and were brought here for burial.<\/p>\n

There is a large war graves cemetery and stained glass windows commemorating 30,000 who died in the Bois d’Ailly and Agremont Forest together with local heroes.<\/p>\n

I rode on through the forest to approach Thiaucourt-Regneville near to Jaulny where there is a German war graves cemetery. It was a day for memorials.<\/p>\n

Arrived in Jaulny and found the campsite, (hooray! this one was open!) where I set up and then watched the sunset with a deserved beer.<\/p>\n
