I was up early and had fried egg sarnies for brekkie with tea, before a shower and then went to the bike shop at 9 am. The mechanic fixed my gears and only charged \u00a34 so all is good apart from the fact that they now slip in lower gears, but what do I expect after wrapping a strap of my pannier cover around them in the pouring rain!<\/p>\n

I returned to my room, packed up and used WiFi. I didn\u2019t leave til nearly 1pm and went to my new hotel. On the way I met a guy in an SUV picking his kids up from school and he was very interested in my trip. The kids were all waving and when I pulled alongside he offered me to have lunch with him. I\u2019m not sure why, but I declined the offer and went to the apartment after buying washing powder and a drink. The people were very friendly, but there was no washing machine or kitchen, so after doing my washing by hand, I went in search of food, but all I could find was a supermarket with ham, cheese and bread for lunch. On the way back I took a wrong turn and ended up in a cul de sac where all the local dogs barked and chased me away, I think I counted 8 in all!<\/p>\n

Back at the apartment I put the heating on and went to bed. I was so tired I didn\u2019t even bother going out to dinner.<\/p>\n
