Day 363                                                        17th July

17 miles (Berlin)  Average speed 8.2 mph Top speed 25 mph

Up at 8 and after brekkie took Helen to the airport. I got back at 1pm and picked up my bags before checking into the hostel in a room full of beer bottles and no ventilation. Not sure what would greet me on my return but left at 3 and cycled round Berlin.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I enjoyed the sights and found a Decathlon to buy gas. <\/span><\/span>I had bread and cheese for dinner and left the Italian students in the room playing cards. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I went to a famous rum bar but couldn’t afford 10\u20ac a drink, so opted for King’s pub where I received a warm welcome and settled in to watch Germany v Sweden women’s footy. The music in the bar was so 80’s pop it was great if quite funny. I met a couple from Sweden who joined us for the second half. Marrianne and Jessica were very animated during the game. We had a good chat and I told them about the toilet bar.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I got back to the hostel about 11.30 and thankfully slept well despite the Italians returning in the middle of the night and waking me at 7am.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
