Day 417                                               9th September

A good day off. I was up at 9 even though I didn’t get in til 4! <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I had brekkie of cheese and tomato sarnies and went to the tower shopping mall. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A leisurely breakfast<\/p><\/div>\n

It was very hot despite the forecast for rain and thunder. I found a small tin of degreaser at last. I went to top floor where they have a casino and checked out footy odds while watching Liverpool get thrashed by Man City. Then I discovered that HNK Rijeka were playing so I rushed back to the hostel to get my bike and go to the stadium. Fortunately when I checked kick off wasn’t til 1700 so I had time to have a sarnie by the beach before heading to the game. I didn’t take into account that the stadium would be at the top of a big hill though and arrived late after trying to buy a ticket. I got in with about 15 minutes gone and the home side were already two up. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The atmosphere was really good and there was a big crowd with lots of flares and singing. They didn’t let me down though and ran out 7 0 winners so I had plenty of goals to enjoy while sunbathing on the terrace.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
