Eventually I checked in and found a place for the bike by moving a bench. Once in my room I dropped my phone and cracked the screen again. Doh.

Hopefully that was the third (and last) bit of bad luck after losing my key to my lock yesterday and leaving my shower gel in the hotel last night. After a shower I went for a walk in trendy Madelina to see breca do batman and found a cheap locals bar amongst the trendy places to have a beer and watch some footy.

Cadeira de Vila was the choice for dinner and a contra file steak was much appreciated. Two steaks arrived with salad, beans, rice and chips, all for 40 reais inc a bottle of Brahma.

Why cook for yourself?

I started to wonder why I’ve been cooking when you can get all this in a city when it costs just as much to buy the meat.
