35 miles (Ubirata to Corbelia) Average speed 9.7 mph Top speed 34mph<\/p>\n

I got up at 7.30 and brekkie was not good, but I didn\u2019t expect anything, so I guess some very sweet black coffee and a bread roll with butter should be seen as a bonus.<\/p>\n

I went to the garage for a capuccino and used their toilet, which was much cleaner than the one in the hotel.<\/p>\n

I left at 9 and was soon flying along the hard shoulder of main road which now had a better surface. The first hour was a great run down to the river but then I needed to get back up the other side.<\/p>\n

It made for a tough couple of hours, but the scenery was good with lots of farmland. I stopped at a garage 8 miles from town for a buffet lunch of chicken, rice, salad, potatoes and beans. There were still a few hills to climb and some roadworks to make life a bit more interesting, dodging big holes and fresh tarmac.<\/p>\n

I made it to this hotel after another climb and chose this one as it had a room to store the bike, whereas the other would have meant carrying it upstairs. I had a walk and a rest before dinner of burger and an early night due to a power cut.<\/p>\n
