Day 915                                                21st January 2019<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

64 miles (Dungan to Chereting) Average speed 14 mph Top speed 30 mph<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Another great day with a tailwind all the way.
\nI got up at 9, had two coffees and an orange for brekkie.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I left at 10,45 and took the beach road, until I realised I needed to get back to main road 3, so wiggled through side roads to get back and hit it at great speed. After an hour I\u2019d done 15 plus miles and stopped for breakfast of baby pastors and doughnuts with iced tea. Back on the road I was in Paka in no time and wondered why somebody in a distant conversation recommended I find work there. I guess if I was in petroleum or power plants I could have, but nothing there of interest for me!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I continued and couldn\u2019t believe the progress I was making, that tailwind was strong and so was the sun, I was glad of my cap. I went back to retrieve a B that had fallen from a car number plate and added to my growing collection of souvenirs and attached it next to my takrew ball which the artist in Duyong island had given me. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

At the next junction I took the 3 along the coast and had a climb for a change, my legs had forgotten what to do after so long on the flat.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I asked at a restaurant if there was a ferry across the river, but to no avail, so went back to the main road and stopped just a couple of miles from my destination for an iced tea and directions to a good hotel . However I decided to try a campsite and was rewarded by meeting a Polish\/ Canadian and his wife. We chatted for ages about our two year and 30,000 km journeys and then I finally met the owner and agreed to take the hammock for 10 ringgit.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I showered and went in search of food and beer. The restaurant\/ beach which the owner recommended was very expensive at 12 ringgit a can, but I watched the sunset and then found a Chinese restaurant with cheaper beer and a place for chicken and rice for just 6 ringgit. So I had a beer at the Chinese and took one back to the beach to watch the full moon and waves.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Now I\u2019m happily swinging in my hammock and after lighting a fire hopefully the mosquitoes will stay away! This place is glorious so I may stay a while as the beach is much safer.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
