Day 929                                          4th February 2019<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

29 miles ( Singapore) Average speed 8.4 mph Top speed 73 mph??? this computer is still not right<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Another good day.
\nI got up at 8.30 for a good brekkie and then a rest and shower before heading to Queenstown. I met Harsh first and chatted about cricket and football. The route to Queenstown was very easy along the river bike path.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On arrival I asked the doorman if I could leave my bike hidden away and he said yes. At the reception they didn\u2019t take cash but said I could swim if I bought a card next time I visited. The pool was massive, I could only just see the other end. Two lengths was enough and then I sunbathed on good loungers, but the clouds came over so I read my book.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On the way back the heavens opened and I took cover in some office blocks. Then I found the river path and stopped a couple of times to take cover before making it back to the hostel without getting too wet. I had a rest before taking a shower and then left in search of food at Maxwells. All the roads were closed, so I took the pavement and found my way there. I had a delicious fish chilli dish with rice and a beer.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Then I ventured into Chinatown after finding a good spot for the bike. It was too crazy for me with too many people and too much hassle, so I found my way to the bay and weaved in and out of the people which was good fun. I saw a light show with water jets and then moved onto the bay but as it was so busy I found a quiet food hall for a couple of beers before the midnight fireworks.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Everything fell into place and I had a great place to watch fireworks from a statue with a pretty girl. They were definitely one of the best displays I\u2019ve seen and I kind of pinched myself to say here I am celebrating CNY so far away from home! I\u2019m now beginning to wonder where home is?? Apart from the fact that that\u2019s where my family and friends are!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m sat in a restaurant having a beer at 2 am and a guy arrived on a moto to sell them a Bluetooth speaker which they tested extensively before purchasing. You can get anything you want in Singapore as long as it\u2019s not a beer after 10.30!!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
