Day 1056                                        11th June 2019
\n<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

40 miles (Dak po to Phung pho ) Average speed 11.5 mph<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Another great day including another descent to add to the list of greatest all time.<\/p>\n

I was awake at 6 and got up to meet the youngsters for brekkie of noodles and then on moto to have coffee and meet their friends. I was on the back of the moto with 3 people on the way back. I said goodbye as they went to work but it wouldn\u2019t be the last I saw of them. <\/p>\n

I showered and left at 11. I hit the road and was going great guns with the wind behind me helping me up the hills. Going through the town of Ahn, I spotted the boys in a moto shop and stopped to say hi. We arranged to meet around the corner for sugar cane drink even though I had only been on the road 35 minutes. I had two before they arrived and then a mango with them and we arranged to meet at the beach on Thursday. It feels a little odd as an old man with all these young boys but no one seems to mind!<\/p>\n

Second breakfast with the youngsters before getting on my way<\/p><\/div>\n

Then there were a few ups and downs but mainly down until I reached the top of the descent where I bought a revive energy drink from the most beautiful Vietnamese girl, whose son laughed when my bike fell over in the wind. I looked out over the valley beyond and the fantastic road that lay ahead. It was an incredible ride down, for which I even donned my helmet for the first time since Phuket.<\/p>\n

Once I’d eaten and settled into the hostel I joined some more new friends for a sociable evening<\/p>\n
