47 miles (Lampang To toen mae thot. ) Average speed 10.8 mph Top speed 33 mph<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What started as a routine day following the 1 highway with a good wide shoulder and very little traffic turned into a jungle expedition, where I had to unload the bike and carry it across dry rivers, broken trees, up rock faces, through overgrown paths and many other obstacles while being constantly attacked by mosquitoes buzzing around my head. <\/p>\n

I wondered why all the paddy fields workers were laughing and wishing me well!<\/p>\n

At one point I lost the narrow track and followed moto tracks up a big hill only to find a dead end.<\/p>\n

I was wondering if I would ever get out before nightfall at one stage. I spent 1 hour 45 minutes off road in some of the most difficult terrain but at least it was not raining like last time I ventured into the jungle. I\u2019ll be sticking to the main road for a while.<\/p>\n
