A good day on good roads.
\nI got up at 8.30 and chatted to Tarah before leaving at 9.15 after not much sleep in my hammock.
\nI didn\u2019t find breakfast in town and carried on to the glass temple which was not as impressive as I had imagined.<\/p>\n

I had an iced coffee before crossing the bridge to a place where I had chicken and rice served by a pretty Thai girl. Then I took a good road alongside the river, but I didn\u2019t see much of it. I stopped at a garage for chocolate buns with butter and sugar inside from 7\/11. Then I realised I\u2019d missed the turning for a homestay so continued on to a boutique hostel. There was nobody around and the price was 600 baht so I left and had a rest while taking on my second Fanta orange. I tried to negotiate my way through a path only to find a river blocking my way and had to detour another two miles to get to my hotel, so not a shortcut after all!!<\/p>\n
