Day 153 19th December
41 miles (Marbella to Malaga) Average speed 11.9 mph Top speed 28 mph
I left Marbella at 10 and followed the beach path as far as it went, where I found a car showroom with an E-type Jag , took a picture and then went onwards on the main road.
It was a beautiful day and an enjoyable ride. Stopped in Fuengirola at the London bar for a big fry up. A very English 24 hours, what with the curry too. I met a couple of Geordies and talked about my trip, also talked to the owner and had a look at all the footy shirts hanging up.
Then on to Malaga via Torremolinos which was better than the motorway. Arrived in Malaga after a quick stop at Decathlon and checked in at Feel hostel again. Went to the port and had a go on a bike that powered stair lights (Ermintrude: See explanation below picture) and saw quite a few different types of bike about town.
(Ermintrude : The label on the bike says :
Gracias por ayudarnos a dar luz a esta navidad.Te recordamos que estas bicis forman parte de una esculptura interactivaPor favor tratalas con respeto y delicadeza te agradecemos que no pedalees ni rapido ni fuere
Muelle uno
Which I translate as:
Thank you for helping us to give light to this Christmas. We remind you that these bikes are part of an interactive sculpture. Please treat them with respect and delicacy, we thank you for not pedalling very fast or hard.
Pier One )
Later I stood and watched a ladies’ choir in Constitution Plaza and bumped into Anneli at Chinitas bar and had a chat.
Then on to Sports bar to watch footy before dinner and to ZZ Bar for live music again. Not too late though – I was in bed by 1.
