37miles (Sete to Montpelier) Average speed 11 mph Top speed 23 mph
Awake at 3.30am in a hot sweat again. I listened to the radio for a while and managed to get back to sleep at 5 for a couple of hours. I woke up and had a coffee in bed by popping out to the bar in my pjs and back to my sleeping bag. When I got up and packed , I went to see if any eggs had appeared but the restaurant is closed today??
Disembarking
Disembarking at Sete was a great pleasure, I am so glad to get off the boat.
I feel so calm and relaxed now after that awful 44 hour journey. It took 11 hours longer than I had expected, trying to sleep under less than ideal circumstances in a noisy, uncomfortable pullman seat near the bar, without being able to find decent food when I needed it. And the poor service and rude staff made it miserable at times.
I have lunch sorted and will be eating smoked salmon, cheese and wine by the canal.

There is no campsite here in Sete so I am setting off on the road to Montpelier where I will find tonight’s camping and really enjoy being back on the bike.
