I packed up and took a leisurely ride to the port, bought food in Lidl for the journey and checked in. I was waved straight on board and parked my bike between carpets and cable reels.

I walked through and straight to my cabin which was only 30 metres from the bike and one level down, which meant I had time to go back 3 times to get stuff I’d left in the panniers. On board I treated myself to a 6€ beer as we set sail . Then I found a cheapish bottle of wine in duty free and retired to dinner in my cabin. I was showered and in bed by 8 after a walk around the massive cruise ship.
