Day 438 to Day 440 1st to 3rd October
Sabbioni
Hotel Villa Dori
A couple more days of sightseeing from a different base and then it was time to say “Arrivederci”
Our last day together, I was awake at 7 and had brekkie of croissant and cheese and tomato with tea. I rode the 2 miles to the campsite and checked in at 11.30. I set up my tent while fighting off mosquitoes and went to a burger place for burger and chips. We walked around town and then went into Mestre to catch the bus with Bernie to the airport. We said fond farewells and hope to see each other again soon. I took the bus back to Piazza Roma, as it came first. and sat by the Grand Canal with a bottle of Becks watching the boats going by. It’s going to be strange now being alone after the wedding and time off in Pula. I bought eggs and cheese for brekkie and headed back to campsite.
It’s been a long time since I camped, 10th September. I’ve been living a life of luxury since, 5 star hotels and apartments, but this is my first night back under canvas and true to form it’s raining. But now it’s time to get back in the saddle; Milano here I come. Then I’ll be heading to Genoa and onto Morocco and Cadiz before taking on the challenge of Brazil. This is one incredible journey.
