Day 50 7/9/16
45 Miles (Villasayas to Jadraque) average speed 10.2 mph Top speed 37.9 mph
Started off early with church bells ringing in my ears. Not much to pack though as panniers were still attached. 7km to Barahona where a roadside restaurant was setting up. I asked for food and he provided me with just the tonic: Spanish omelette in half a baguette. 3 coffees later and batteries charged, face washed and ready to go.

Entering province of Guadalajara

A long hard road
A long hard road today and very dry heat. Saw another vulture and roadside sheep skulls and various bones. A dead snake and no bars or shops in many a town I visited.

Went into Negredo 1km to find drink but only water of which I drank my body’s weight today.

1km detour for water
It was 3pm when I arrived in what I thought was Jadraque but was the town before also beginning with J. Jirueque, no shops or bars but asked a girl and her dad provided me with a coke. What a nice man. Into Jadraque was 1.6 miles and all but the last 0.1 were uphill. That coke just got me there.
Found Hotel Castillo for €27, had smoked salmon on toast with egg.
