I was awake at 9 and had coffee with chicken sandwiches for breakfast.
I left at 11 and followed the 1 highway until the turn off to cross the Ping river at ban Tak, where I stopped for sprite and ritz crackers. Then it was a good road all the way along the river with a few undulations and the odd spot of refreshing rain until I reached Tak.
A good road today
As my saddle was in a very bad way after trying and failing to repair it last night I was very lucky to find a bike shop in town with a very helpful owner who spent 30 minutes with me fixing it. He didn’t charge me and said it was the first Brooks saddle he had worked on!
Then as the rain got heavier I was very lucky to see a sign for this hotel which was much cheaper than anything online. So I checked in and relaxed as the heavens opened. When it stopped I walked to the football stadium to see if any games were on, but there were not so I returned and took the bike to the night market where I had chicken steak for dinner.
