Day 108 4th November
63 miles (Dos Hermanas to Seville and back the long way!) Average speed 14 mph Top speed 81(?) mph
What a fantastic day! Said goodbye to my drinking buddies from last night, Algin and Kerry from Cardiff, only 1 bottle of wine between us but we chatted for 3 hours. Great company and wonderful to be invited over for drinks at their VW California. Then brekkie and a shower before heading off to Seville.

Algin and Kerry
I got lost going into Seville.I followed the signs for city centre but ended up going back to where I came from! I may have sworn at my satnav but it did have its uses. Especially finding MacDonald’s wifi!
I miss Brian and he would have loved some of the sights. I had a really bad moment this morning while washing up last night’s dishes – the water was so hot that I had almost boiled a snail hidden among the pots.
I found my way to the centre of town eventually after going through an army camp where I was warned not to take photos. Some great sightseeing but I felt the need to bag myself a ticket for the Messi show on Sunday so made my way via beautiful parks and the port before finding tourist office and getting directions to the gift shop. Found the gift shop but they didn’t sell tickets and told me it was a sell out. No tickets but I did bag two pens for €1.20.

The gift shop says the match is sold out
I went to the stadium and the sell out was confirmed. A guy in the queue offered to get me one but when he got there no home tickets available. I was next in line and the lovely girl spoke English and offered me a ticket in the Barca end for €70.

I got a ticket!
A bit pricey but the cheapest available. Happy days. I was so happy to get a ticket that a local photo-bombed me and was pleased to celebrate with me! Bring on Sunday.

And was photo-bombed!
I then celebrated by cycling down the motorway in the dark; before finding a ferreteria to buy a new lock, just as they were closing and they gave me directions back without annoying all the lorry drivers on the motorway. I needed a beer and as I stopped a ball going into the road from a nearby footy pitch and kicked it back to the kids playing, I went to watch a fiercely competitive under nines game and found the bar very reasonable at €1 a beer.
Even better news, ERNIE has just paid for my ticket by way of £125 winnings on the premium bonds. Glad I checked my emails now! Get in!

My ticket to the match on Sunday
I am wondering how much pasta is enough for a hungry cyclist? I’ve just eaten a saucepan full and I could do the same again after 63 miles around Seville. 🚴🏿
