Day 564 4th February 2018
Sao Pedro del Aldeia to Saquemera
35 very tough miles (no stats.)
I got up at 7 and showered after nearly electrocuting myself unplugging my phone. This room had some very dubious plumbing and wiring.

Health and safety nightmare!
I left at 8.30 after struggling to get my bike through the gap between the car parked in the bar and the front door, before the guy on reception moved the car out anyway. He said goodbye and to be honest I was happy to leave.
There was no breakfast included so I crossed the main road and went to McDonald’s which of course was closed. I continued until I found a bakery for two coffees and two cakes. I wasn’t feeling my best and was glad to stop as often as possible. I was also in no rush as I only had 30-ish miles to the hostel I’d booked. So my next stop saw me watching a Sunday morning footy match between what I think was the a and b teams of the same club, Saco Murchas.

Sunday morning football
I watched an entertaining first half which finished 2.1 to the pink team. At half time the refreshments were being handed out and one of the red teams players came over to me and offered me some beer.

Half time – What no oranges?
It seemed rude to decline and we chatted with 4 other players. They offered me a game but I declined that as I had no boots and my right knee was playing up.

Saquemera
