A really tough day back in the saddle. Headwinds all the way and it’s getting cold now. Lots of hills to climb and hard work all the way. Today’s nature watch included a tarantula on the white line at the side of the road which I photographed

but tried not to get too close until a truck blew it towards me, at which point I made a hasty retreat and a large stick insect which I just managed to avoid.
There were also lots of birds and my favourite birdsong sounds like peek-a-boo.
