Day 881 18th December 2018
37 mainly uphill miles (Tapah to Tana Ratah) Average speed 8mph
I was awake at 6 and up at 6.30. I had black coffee and two cream croissants and left at 7.45.Lucas was still in bed due to a lorry parked outside our room keeping him awake at 4 am.
The first 5 miles were downhill mostly until the climbing started. The next 6 hours were then all uphill. I stopped at a tiny village to buy coke and cup cakes for sustenance and headed on up.
Well that was an enjoyable ride up to Cameron Highlands, 5 hours and 37 miles, mostly uphill. I do like a challenge.

Lata Iskandar waterfall

Cameron Highlands
I was hoping for some good wildlife but all I found was a mole in a drainage pipe! Still the scenery was quite spectacular and I had a lovely lunch of chicken curry in Ringlet.

Fantastic view of the valley
I checked into the Hikers Sleep Port in a dormitory, so hopefully I won’t upset too many people with my snoring! Only another 17 miles of climbing before I can enjoy the ride down to Penang for Christmas.
Hikers sleep port 35 ringgit.
