Day 955 2nd March 2019
10 miles (Penang to Butterworth) Average speed 7.6 mph Top speed 25 mph
Another fantastic day.
I was up at 8 for brekkie of toast and coffee. Then I packed up and said goodbye to JJ on reception and that I hoped to meet him in Bangkok.

On board the ferry to Butterworth
I met Rickie on the other side of the ferry crossing at Butterworth and he took me via a short cut out of the port. I followed him to a secret toddy bar/shop. Toddy is a moonshine illegally made from coconut extract. We had one there and Rickie bought a litre for later. It would be very difficult to find this place, but the road sweepers saw us and smiled, they knew exactly where we were going!
As we left I thought I was seeing things as two cows were being led along a road in the centre of town by a man on a motorcycle??

The cowherd on a motorbike behind me
When we got to Rickies house he welcomed me in to meet Kim his wife.

Enjoying a meal with Rickie and Kim
Rickie and Kim’s house free.
