I woke up at 1.30 as I didn’t get in til 5.
I went to meet Emela for lunch and as it was her birthday I treated her to good Chinese food with a wheat grass drink.
I had a rest and did some washing before chatting to a Dutch and German girl in the hostel and giving them some local info.
I went to Boat Alley bar and met a local cyclist, Rickie who invited me to stay with him tomorrow in Butterworth. Then after chatting I needed to get a move on to bike to footy. On the way I was nearly taken out by a speeding motorcycle, but got there just in time for a beer and as I walked in the game kicked off.
Penang vs UTIM
I was the third person to touch the ball as it bounced over the fence, I caught it and threw it back, I really should have headed it, I might have got a game! The quality was not the best. UTIM scored on the break before Penang equalised via an own goal headed in by their striker. Some really should not come back to defend set pieces. The winner came late on and looked like it was offside.
It was a decent crowd but nowhere near the 20000 capacity.
