Day 26 14/8/16
No stats today. 53 miles approximately (so says Google!)
Guenrouet to Nantes,
via Bouvron, Blain, La Chapelle sur Erdre,
A bit of a tough one today it’s getting hotter as I go south.
Started slowly so that I could cheekily charge my batteries. Well, if they are going to steal my maps, I’m going to use their electricity.
Started out on cycle path again but it was taking its toll on my arse, my ears, my bike and my sanity!
Found a tractor and farm demonstration at Bouvron,
along with a boot sale,
but I didn’t see any bargains. Brian the Snail found a friend, but I needed to get a move on.
A brief stop in Blain, to take pictures of the church, and on again.
Found the tarmac again and things picked up but I ran out of water and was desperate, found the toilets in La Chapelle sur Erdre but it was one of those that flush and clean itself with no running water! Went past many houses and eventually asked a group sitting in their garden having dinner. They invited me in for wine but I had too far to go to start drinking and I was so in need of water it would have been embarrassing to down half a litre in one gulp.
At Nantes found the cathedral
Got to the campsite and they had no space but said I could stay in the garden of an empty chalet. Bonus, no tent tonight for me. Sleeping under the stars for the first time. There is also a power point and free wifi. A bit pricey at €15 but where else would I get such luxury in Nantes?
